The latest version of Premiere Pro just came out in October at the annual Adobe Max Conference. There were a lot of updates and improvements that were added to the 2022, now version 22.0, of Premiere Pro. In this post, I’ll be outlining the main features that I believe you’ll need to be aware of going forward into the new year.

Input LUTs
One of the main features to check out is input LUTs. If you often work with Sony cameras or other Log codecs, you now have the ability to add input LUTs to your video clips before you even create a new sequence. This allows you to save time by automatically adding these input LUTs and not having to manually do it every time you create a new sequence via the Color workspace.
To do this, import your footage as normal into Premiere Pro. Then in the Project panel right click on the clip(s) and go to Modify > Interpret Footage. You’ll see that there is now an option at the very bottom of the window to add input LUTs.
Simplify Sequence
Another brand new feature for Premiere Pro 2022 is called Simplify Sequence. This feature quickly allows you to take a complicated Premiere Pro sequence and remove and combine different pieces of content to create a more streamlined and cleaner timeline.
To do this go to Sequence > Simplify Sequence. You’ll see a new dialogue box with several options to choose from.
It’s important to note that Premiere Pro will actually make a duplicate of your sequence. So just in case you simplify your sequence too much, you’ll be able to go back to your original.
Remix
Now this one isn’t in the full 2022 version yet. It is still in beta testing, but it is still worth noting as it is such a game changer when it comes to editing video to music that needs to be a certain length of time.

You can see that it still has some improvements to be made, but we all look forward to seeing this feature rolled out later next year into the full version.
