Premiere Pro & After Effects 2024 New Features

Adobe rolled out their 2024 Creative Cloud application updates this past month. There are a lot of new features among several of the applications. In this post I’ll be going over some of the highlights in Premiere Pro 2024 and After Effects 2024. Let’s Dive in!

Check out all Premiere Pro 2024 updates in my video above
New Text-Based Editing Features

One of the most exciting new features inside Premiere Pro 2024 is the new Text-Based Editing Features. The 2024 version of Premiere Pro has a new filters button inside the Text panel. This allows you to filter pauses in your audio. You can select all your pauses and delete them with one click.

This is a huge time-saver! If you work with a lot of interview style videos or clips that have a lot of dialogue, this feature can really come in handy to do a lot of the heavy lifting for you when it comes to trimming out dead space.

Rotobrush 3.0

To be honest, there isn’t that much new in After Effects this year… The only major new update is the AI powered Rotobrush improvement called Rotobrush 3.0.

Rotobrush 3.0 uses AI to track your subject a lot better. Compared to 2.0, it is much faster and more accurate. Try it out for yourself, and let me know in the comments below on how you like it! You can also see how to use the Rotobrush tool in my video below.

Features Still In Beta

There are some features still in the beta versions of Premiere Pro and After Effects that the community is looking forward to. Hopefully we will see these rolled out into the main applications sometime in the future.

One new beta feature in Premiere Pro is called Enhance Speech. This AI powered tools allows you to clean up poorly recorded audio with a simple button and slider to adjust the strength. This can be helpful for outdoor shots, or certain situations wear you’d want to limit the amount of noise.

A major update is coming to Adobe After Effects pretty soon. Currently in beta, there is the new 3D workflow. There is a lot in this, but the most revolutionary thing about it is that you’ll eventually be able to import 3D models directly into After Effects without having to use a third party plugin.

I personally can’t wait for both of these features to be rolled out. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
